Core Spices and Flavorings -
1 tsp Cardamom powder
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cup shredded coconut - fresh or frozen
3 to 4 tbs cocoa powder
Add the condensed milk, cocoa powder and 1 cup coconut to a large pan and heat over medium heat.
Keep stirring the mixture to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan, as that could cause it to get burnt.
After the mixture starts to get thick and starts to get sort of doughy (about 15 to 20 minutes), add in the cardamom powder and continue stirring until well blended.
Remove from the heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes or so.
Now wet your hands and take small portions of the mix and roll into little balls.
Roll the balls into the remaining 1/2 cup shredded coconut so that they are well covered.
Serve on a platter.
These balls can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days. But they are best eaten fresh.
